Are you ready to finish Dark Souls and travel to the end of the world? You will soon be able to in the final DLC from award winning developer FromSoftware.
In a press release today Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced the release date, plot synopsis and trailer for their final Dark Souls DLC. Titled The Ringed City players will experience an adventure to the literal end of the world in a chase after Slave Knight Gael and his search for the Dark Soul of Humanity.
The official plot synopsis follows:
At the close of the Age of Fire, as the world ends and all lands converge upon themselves, a lone adventurer descends into the madness of the earth and uncovers the secrets of the past. As players make their way to the fabled Ringed City they will encounter ancient beasts, a new cast of characters teetering on the edge of insanity, new armor, weapons, magic, and at the bottom of it all, a long lost city filled with new horrors for players to overcome.
Jason Enos, Director of Brand and Latin American Marketing for Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc had more to say.
“Dark Souls III: The Ringed City brings players toe-to-claw against massive beasts in a twisted descent into the bowels of the end of the world. FromSoftware has crafted visually arresting environments that evoke a sense of destroyed beauty and nail biting encounters that will leave players breathless for more.”
It’s interesting that a Brand Director would say that this DLC will leave players wanting more. One year ago in an interview with Gamespot FromSoftware President and Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki stated,
“I’m considering Dark Souls III to be the big closure on the series.”
Of course Bandai Namco couldn’t have forseen that the latest Souls game would go on to becoming the fastest selling game ever in their history. With latest sales figures over 3.5 million sold its clear however that the Dark Souls brand has a lot more to offer.
Dark Souls III: The Ringed City will be available for $14.99 or as part of the Season Pass which also includes previous DLC Ashes of Ariandel. A release date of March 28, 2017 was set for the release on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. Feel free to check out our review of Dark Souls III.
