For the past two months, a New York man has been posting to Twitter frequently, with the evidence he’s compiled in each tweet convincing him – and many others – one thing. His apartment is haunted by a dead baby named Dear David.
The first tweet began back on August 7, 2017, as Adam Ellis revealed that the ghost of a dead child was not only haunting him, but trying to kill him.
So, my apartment is currently being haunted by the ghost of a dead child and he's trying to kill me. (thread)

The tweet above was just one of many on August 7th, 2017, as he goes on to tweet many more after in a mock thread. Throughout the first day’s tweets, he goes on to recant that Dear David, a child with a huge misshapen head that was dented on one side, first appeared to him in a dream, but later manifested into the real world.
Ellis goes on to detail the first time he saw him in the real world.
“The first time I saw him, I was experiencing sleep paralysis and saw a child sitting in the green rocking chair at the foot of my bed.”
He does admit that he experiences sleep paralysis rather often, but that the child was new, and felt real. As time progressed he went from simply staring at Ellis, to getting out of his chair and shambling towards him. Right before Dear David reached the bed, the New Yorker woke up screaming.
A few nights later, Ellis had a dream that a girl came up to him and said that he had seen Dear David, hadn’t he. She goes on to explain that David was dead and that he only appears at midnight. She also says you can ask him two questions if you said ‘Dear David’ first.,” but never a third, or he will kill you.
After learning – through another dream visit with the dead child – Dear David did in an accident in a store, after a shelve was pushed on him, of course he asked him the third question.
I'm frozen with fear. I ask, "Who pushed the shelf?" David doesn't answer.

What follows is a horrifying few months of his cats acting strangely every night at midnight, peephole images, videos of plants falling off shelves by themselves, and even alleged pictures of Dear David himself.
Below are the lightened versions of the pictures that Ellis claims to have taken of the misshapen dead baby.
The idea of ghost and other paranormal haunts have existed for centuries, both as a form of superstition and fear, as well as a form of entertainment for some. There have been many movies and television shows that use the concept as a means of profiting – be it “based on a true story” movies or “what was that” like TV shows – yet there are plenty of creepy things floating around the internet that really do merit the question as to if ghost, being haunted, and other paranormal things really do exits.
It remains to be seen which side of the spectrum Ellis falls under, especially with photoshop and other technology nowadays. But nonetheless, real or fake, his documentation is certainly creepy. Interestingly enough, Adam Ellis is actually a comic book writer, so it may not be too difficult for him to weave a narrative tale.
The entire ongoing twitter thread from Ellis is listed below, along with his twitter account, in the form of a sortify, which groups everything that has happened so far into one slideshow.
I made a Storify of all my Dear David threads for easier viewing. I'll keep it up to date. https://t.co/NcZm0ZXXTJ
