In preparation for the release of the next installment in the Far Cry series, Ubisoft has revealed more details on their online co-op mode, “Friends For Hire.” The latest trailer for Far Cry 5 shows that you’re going to need friends if you hope to survive the Eden’s Gate Cult.
Play together with friends or even with strangers online, riding ATV’s together or even racing land versus air to get to the hundreds of co-op missions and objectives throughout Far Cry 5. But how soon will players be able to access “Friends For Hire?
According to Ubisoft, players will be able to access the online co-op team up immediately following the in-game tutorial. Together, you and friends will share experience and inventory items, excluding quest-based items, as everything carries over following each session. Only the host player of the session will keep the story progress though.
If you and your buddy feel a bit lonely though, don’t worry, as players will still be able to recruit “Guns For Hire” or “Fangs for Hire.” In total, you can have up to two buddies, with one being another player, join you in your squad.
The two player co-op system will allow players to not only explore Hope County, but will give those struggling on there own the extra edge to take down the Project at Eden’s Gate, all in a chaotic new fashion of fun and violence in the games open world.
Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 will be the first installment in the series set in America, in the fiction town of Hope Country, Montana. The game will be available February 27, 2018, on PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and Windows PC.
