A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue hinted at several plot points that the title will feature. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue will be the final update before the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. This compilation sets the narrative for a long-awaited conclusion to the Dark Seeker Saga. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue will include the remastered Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance 3D, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A fragmentary Passage –, a new episode that will connect with the story of Kingdom Hearts 3, and Kingdom Hearts x [chi] Back Cover.
The trailer, set to the tune of “Simple And Clean –Ray of Hope MIX–”, showcases gameplay for the remastered edition of the popular Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, this HD remaster will retell the events of the latest chronological entry in the series. Scenes from Aqua’s adventures in the Dark World, after the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, are also featured. Highlights here include an appearance by King Mickey, and a possible reunion between Aqua and her friends.
Plot details for Kingdom Hearts x [chi] Back Cover also surface in the trailer. This hour-long HD movie will focus on story elements that were unseen in Kingdom Hearts x [chi].Taking place just before the start of the famed Keyblade War, this cinematic story will expose fans to the earliest parts of the series’ story as they watch the conflict between the Foretellers grow. Series designer Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Kingdom Hearts x [chi] Back Cover will utilize technology made for Kingdom Hearts 3. This release will mark the series’ first title for the PlayStation 4. Fans who didn’t purchase the previous Kingdom Hearts compilations won’t have to wait long for another chance to catch up on the story. Both Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix will release for the PlayStation 4 in 2017.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will release on 24th January 2017 for the PlayStation 4.
