Nipping at the heels of the box office titan American Sniper, comes Max. It tells the tale of another American hero, this time with four legs instead of two. Starring everybody’s favorite dog character from Call of Duty: Ghosts, the new film from director Boaz Yakin tells the story of a dog with PTSD, but also the story of a kid growing up, and possibly some military conspiracy side-plot as well. It looks corny and cheesy in just the way audiences like with enough patriotic vigor to cash in on the American Sniper crowd. There’s fireworks, trucks, BMX, and a German Shepard with a flak jacket on.
Max is due to hit screens on June 26th. Reserve your tickets and get your tissues ready because we all know that Max is going to die. That’s just how dog movies, and box office successes, work. Watch the international Max trailer below.
