Metro: Exodus has been one of the most anticipated games of 2018 since the gameplay trailer announced the game at E3 2017. You got a glimpse of a beautiful landscape, full of life and hinting at what you can expect from the game’s story. There is hope for life out there above the Metro, and Artyom must spend his time above ground to figure out where. At The Game Awards, a new trailer for the game was released, depicting more of what you can expect as you traverse the Eastern-Eurpoean wasteland that rests, but doesn’t sleep, above the Metro. Check out the trailer below.
The official cinematic trailer for Metro: Exodus looks awesome. No need to sugar coat it. The desolate land is covered with snow, or ash… Whatever tickles your fancy to imagine. You’re forced against an old car as mutants hunt you down; you ride a train through old, worn out tracks to a destination unknown, possibly to the future of humanity.
As I mentioned before, the E3 trailer showed a completely different atmosphere than the one we are seeing in this trailer, one full of life and mutant bears. The differences between the two trailers suggest that Artyom has to fight his way through the wasteland to get to the place seen in the E3 trailer. But how much different could this new place be? With mutant bears busting down the doors of a decrepit building, I’d say that Artyom has his work cut out for him if he wants to find a suitable place for humanity to survive above ground.
Developed by 4A Games, Metro: Exodus will be available fall 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You’ve got some time to catch up on the series if you haven’t already. Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033 are essential games to pick up before considering Exodus. And if you’re all caught up, check out my article discussing one of the best scenes from Metro: Last Light.
Most of the time he spends writing, reading (anything from comics to classic literature), playing video games, and wondering when the next Elder Scrolls title will be released. Hopefully soon…
