On the verge of April Fools, there have been multiple sources stating that they have received a screenshot from what could be Pokémon Switch.
First, PokéJungle – an outlet devoted to Pokémon – posted an article earlier this week revealing that they had received information from their contacts from Taiwan and China revolving around the internal working demo for the Switch version of Pokémon. The article didn’t reveal any images, but stated they saw elements of the game. Those elements include PokéRides, Following Pokémon, Battles that start by running into a Pokémon, and a familiar region.
A few days later, Twitter user Pixelpar posted that they had been receiving “the same shot (multiple times) of what could be Pokémon Switch.” They, however, did post the aforementioned screenshot image.

Alongside this image, rumors have begun to flourish that the game will be revealed during an unannounced Nintendo Direct event this coming Wednesday. This news comes from a user named Matt Hunt, who cites “reliable sources” to back up his claim, despite not having any evidence.
A French-language Pokemon fan site called Pokegraph also claim these rumors to be true, but like Hunt, has only a claim of “reliable sources” as their proof. If they are being correct, the site also reports the Nintendo Switch version will follow the same split two-game format as the other games in the series, and that they will launch in December of this year.
Again, it’s almost April Fools, so that means plenty of trolls will be preying on the hopes and dreams of gullible gamers this weekend, revealing dream game announcements that turn out too good to be true. So be sure to stay tuned to the site to see if there is any merit to the rumors. And don’t forget to check back for all of your other nerdy news and needs!
