Preacher will be airing on all new episode titled “Dirty Little Secret” this Monday on AMC. At the end of last week’s episode “Puzzle Piece,” we saw Herr Starr meet with Jesse and offer his assistance in finding God. It appears this week’s episode will dive further into Herr Starr and Jesse working together. It also appears that Dennis’s urges may be becoming a concern. As I mentioned in my review for “Puzzle Piece,” it appeared Dennis’s thirst for blood was high. We actually see a segment in the preview where Cassidy is lecturing Dennis on not giving into his urges. It was certainly a big conflict within Cassidy about turning Dennis but it could be even bigger if Cassidy has to put him down.
I’m hoping Tulip’s PTSD from the Saint goes away and it appears it could be happening in this episode. There’s a moment in the preview where Tulip can be seen looking into a hole of some type. A hole that looks very similar to where Jesse hid the Saints weapons. The description of the episode even mentions Tulip discovering Jesse lying to her. If this is, in fact, the case, how will Tulip react? Given how torn up Tulip has been about the encounter with the Saint, one would suspect…not well.
In the preview, the Messiah is also mentioned. In the comics, The Messiah is a descendant of pureblood from Christ himself. Unfortunately, with the amount of inbreeding that was done to keep the bloodline pure, there were…side effects. Herr Starr in the comics saw the Messiah as an idiot and something that needed to be destroyed. It’ll be interesting to see if this is indeed the individual from the comics. The Messiah is located overseas in the comics so it would require a huge change in location if he were to be revealed.
The newest episode of Preacher airs this Monday at 9 on AMC.
