Early Thursday morning, Rockstar Games released the newest trailer for the highly anticipated, Red Dead Redemption 2. While the release date still hasn’t been announced, the trailer did reveal a few details about the game’s story.
According to Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is “the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.” Dutch Van Der Linde, one of the main antagonists in the first Red Dead Redemption, will be returning for the prequel. You’ll be playing on the other side of the law, and yes; robberies are definitely included.
Rockstar had originally planned for the game to release this fall but had to delay the title’s release until next spring. This is the first game that the people at Rockstar are building from the ground up for the current console generation. Because of this, the studio wanted a little more time to perfect their newest title. And, honestly, I don’t think anyone is complaining.
An official release date has yet to be announced, but the games release window will be sometime in Spring 2018, after April 1st of next year. Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. And who knows! With Rockstar bringing L.A. Noire to the Nintendo Switch later this year, we may eventually be able to take Red Dead Redemption 2 on the go!
It has been a long eight years since Red Dead Redemption was released, and Arthur Morgan has some pretty big, John Marston-sized shoes to fill.
