Capcom has confirmed Umbrella Corps, the first-person shooter set in the Resident Evil universe, to release in May of this year on PS4 and PC. Several game matches will be set in familiar Resident Evil areas like Raccoon City and the creepiest village ever known to man from RE4.
Umbrella Corps‘s design focuses on short, engaging matches with different game modes such as One Life Match, where players have no respawn opportunities. We’re sure there will be plenty more game modes coming down the pipeline.
There are more than just enemies attacking, as this is Resident Evil after all–players will have to dodge incoming bullets and grenades while avoiding the slow approach of the zombie horde. Zombies can be both a blessing and a curse for each team. and must be used in advantageous ways in order to defeat the opposition. There’s arsenal-a-plenty to dispatch enemies, both alive and undead, and our favorite is called the Brainer.
Other items include the Tactical Shield, Terrain Spikes, and the Zombie Jammer, which sends zombies running away from your team for a limited time. Details are sparse at this point, but we’re hoping that Capcom will stick to the May 2016 release date for Umbrella Corps with an MSRP of 24.99 USD on PC and PS4.
