Just a few short days after passing Nintendo’s submission test, Stardew Valley finally has a release date for The Nintendo Switch. The games lone developer, Eric Barone, revealed in a blog post earlier today that the game will be ported to the portable platform on October 5, 2017, just three short days from now.
Rumors have been circulating for months in regards to when Stardew Valley would be coming to the Switch, with Barone doing his best to keep fans informed all the while. In the blog post, the creator also thanked Sickhead Games for their work on the port.
“I would like to give a big shout out to Sickhead Games, who worked very hard to develop this port. They did a great job, as always, and deserve all the credit! I’d also like to thank my publisher Chucklefish for coordinating everything.”
Sickhead Games was not only the team responsible for bringing the beloved simulator to The Switch, but were also in charge of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Stardew Valley. Fans may also know them as the teams behind other indie ports like Octodad: Dadliest Catch and Darkest Dungeon, so they definitely know what they are doing.
When it releases in three days, Stardew Valley will be priced at $14.99. As of now, the game will only be available digitally in the Nintendo Switch’s E-shop.
It will be eShop only for now

It’s been a long wait for Nintendo fans of Stardew Valley, as Chucklefish originally announced the game would be coming to the platform during Nintendo’s February Nindies showcase. The event also revealed that the Switch version was to be the first of any of the platforms to support the multiplayer mode. Unfortunately for fans, they will have to wait just a bit longer to play with friends, as the mode won’t be released until early 2018
