The 2023 X-Men election is upon us! Marvel has unveiled the six mutant candidates that fans can vote to join the iconic superhero team. However, fans only have a short amount of time to choose which mutant they want on the team. Voting is currently open and runs until 11:59 p.m. ET on February 3.
The 2023 X-Men Election
For the past three years, the X-Men election has put the fate of the X-Men in the hands of readers. It kicked off in 2021 with Polaris being voted into the group. Then, in 2022 it was Firestar that became the newest member of Krakoa’s heroes.
Now, fans are asked to vote again! With only one vote per person allowed, this is not a decision to be made lightly. So, let’s check out the mutant candidates…
Vote, Vote, Vote!
There are six mutants vying for a spot on the 2023 X-Men roster. Up first is Cannonball aka Sam Guthrie. Known as one of the original members of the New Mutants, this fan-favorite has been part of both the X-Men and Avengers.
Next up is Dazzler aka Alison Blaire. She first showed up as a pop star using her ability to transform sound into light as part of her show. Eventually, she joined the X-Men and went on to become a SHIELD agent, freedom fighter, and even a vampire hunter.
A lesser-known candidate is Frenzy aka Joanna Cargill. This superpowered mutant first appeared as a member of Apocalypse’s Alliance of Evil.
Another villain vying for a spot on the team is the unstoppable Juggernaut. Once an antagonist to the X-Men, Cain Marko has recently been an unstoppable force of good on Krakoa.
Then there is Jubilation Lee aka Jubilee. This teenage runaway with the ability to shoot fireworks began as a part of the X-Men. Over the years she has proven she is more than just a mall rat.
Finally, Prodigy aka David Alleyne is up for a spot on the team. His psychomimetry would be a wonderful asset for the team.
