RPG fans have had a lot to celebrate recently, and a lot to look forward to. Falling into the former category is the Pyra statue revealed by Goodsmile from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It certainly didn’t take them long to follow up on the unveiling, because in the latter category, we now have her “other half” to look forward to. In other words, it’s Mythra!
While Pyra will release officially this December, no date or price for Mythra has yet been given. In fact, Goodsmile hasn’t even created a product page for the figure yet. Her pose mirror’s Pyra’s, and it’s just as dynamic of an action shot, and they look amazing side by side. Your wallet might disagree, however. And surely Rex is in planning, right? Got to have the full set.
Pyra wasn’t the second statue referenced in the title, by the way. Nope, there’s something else in store, this time for PS4 owners. Who has white hair, dresses in black, is an android, and has a stiff attitude? None other than Nier: Automata‘s own protagonist, 2B.
2B or not 2B, that is… not the question. Crafted by renowned craftsman Flare, this statue was shown off at Wonder Festival 2018. It features 2B in a standing pose, holding the light blade Virtuous Contract at her side. Although it was announced some time earlier, Wonder Festival was the collectible’s first full-color display. No dimensions, price, or release date yet, but it will be sold by Square Enix from their store when it becomes available.
Other statues of 2B are already on the market, some of which also feature her Pod companion and a machine lifeform enemy. But they fall short in the awe factor when compared to the masterpiece delivered by Flare. A follow-up creation of 9S is unlikely, at east until another official figure company decides to take on a Nier: Automata line.
