Two new characters are set to come to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS today, but you’ll have to wait a little while longer.
Nintendo network maintenance is currently underway to make ensure that the service doesn’t malfunction as throngs of Super Smash Bros. fans rush to the eShop. Maintenance will take place today, February 3, from 4:50 PM to 6:30 PM Pacific Time.
Corrin hails from Fire Emblem: Fates, the newest entry in the fantasy strategy franchise that will release in North America and Europe on February 19, 2016. He has the power to transform parts of his body into a dragon and wields a chainsaw-sword that can stun enemies and open them up for combos.
Bayonetta was a surprise inclusion and was only considered after fans called for her appearance in the game in a character ballet. Bayonetta 2 was published by Nintendo, which revived the cult hit franchise after the critical success of the original game.

Late last year during a Super Smash Bros. focused Nintendo Direct, Bayonetta and Corrin were announced to be the final two characters coming to the latest entry in the popular fighting game. They are accompanied with new stages and a handful of new Mii outfits.
This will mark the end of DLC releases for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3Ds, and will bring the game’s final patch as well. The game is finally complete as of these latest releases, but we may be getting more Smash Bros. soon. Rumours recently sprung up about a Smash Bros. entry coming to the Nintendo NX at release.Â
