Now that Dr. Disrespect, otherwise known as Guy Beahm is officially done with Twitch, it’s time for everyone to move on and just get on with their lives right? Wrong.
Dr. Disrespect is still talking about his ban from the service. We already knew he was still claiming he had no idea why he got booted. Now he’s also talking about filing a lawsuit.
Alessandro Barbosa from GameSpot reported on Saturday that Beahm is kicking around the idea of litigation. At issue is just what he would sue for.
Dr. Disrespect has a long and sordid history of causing headaches for the platform. It suspended him for a short time after last summer’s E3.
That time it was because he was streaming from inside a bathroom. It’s never made public just why it cut the cord on Beahm for good.
It seems hard to believe the man who was kicked off the service has no idea why he’s looking for a new platform.
In a June interview with PC Gamer, he was asked flat out why he thinks he’s been kicked to the curb. He refused to offer a guess, in part because he explained his counsel has told him to keep mum.
If you find it odd someone who has been wronged to the point of a lawsuit isn’t willing to offer his opinion on why he was wronged, you probably aren’t alone. Still, Dr. Disrespect claims he’s got a cause of action. It’s just a matter of whether or not he pulls the trigger.
Dr. Disrespect To Back Down?
The smart money is on him eventually backing off this assertion. Beahm has made a career out of being one of the bigger “shock jocks” of gaming streamers. A threat of litigation managed to keep his name in the headlines for at least one more day. It seems more than likely that this was the goal.
