Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remains one of the most popular games since its release. Using what is called the d20 Engine, it calculates all skills in the way that Dungeons and Dragons does. It is an RPG at heart, in which a single decision may shape the entire galaxy. But what happens after The Sith Lords? Where do all the characters go? Fans have wondered for years if there would be a third installment. And we may now have a definitive answer.
New Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Game in The Works
It’s been over a decade since The Sith Lords released. And its ending left people wondering if there was more to the story. Both installments suffered from a small lack of completion in some sections. While fans didn’t hold out hope for a third installment, they were looking forward to a remaster. If there were to be a remaster, maybe each would be more complete.
According to the Bespin Bulletin, a Star Wars insider, a studio somewhere has taken charge of development. Despite recent games being released under the EA banner, this one will not be. They also stated the publishing giant is still helming a Star Wars project. But the one set in the KoTOR era will be developed by a currently unnamed studio. It will allegedly be centered around the story of a bounty hunter.
2003 was the first year that gamers saw the Old Republic in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Taking place 4,000 years before the rise of the Empire, it shaped many future stories set in the same galaxy. But while Disney’s acquisition of the franchise has caused some retcons, the media giant wants to add some other things back in.
