It’s yet another Thursday, and you know what time it is. It’s time for yet another set of Epic Games Store free games to pick up! Last week brought us the FPS Mothergunship and simulator Train Sim World 2. Both titles do hold some merit but were unremarkable at best. Still, if you had the chance to jump in and try them for yourself, we hope you had a great time and are possibly still playing either title. As for this week though, the Epic Games Store has brought out the big guns with both A Plague Tale: Innocence and Minit now being available for free! They’ll be followed up next week by the first solo free release in a while, Rebel Galaxy.
A Plague Tale: Innocence, on one hand, brings a dark and grim tale to the Epic Games Store. In this adventure, follow Amicia and her young brother Hugo as they find themselves working through a dark and unfamiliar world. These lands are filled with horrors, not just in the people themselves, but the rats you encounter as well. The only thing that can stop the rat hordes is the light, though it won’t stop their disgustingly ravish desire to consume both of you. Considering these are kids, the death scenes can get just a tad disturbing. Will both you and Hugo be able to survive the rat plague and Inquisition forces?
If squeamish and grim tales aren’t your forte, then Minit should be up your alley. This stellar indie from the team at Devolver Digital brings a “peculiar adventure” to players which is played in 60-second intervals. Once every real-life minute passes, a new day begins, and so does a brand new adventure. Contrary to what you might believe, this isn’t actually supposed to happen and is the effect of a powerful curse. As the small, large-mouthed creature you are, it’s up to you to do battle and bring your home back to its glory, all in well-drawn, two-color pixel art.
Overall, both A Plague Tale: Innocence and Minit should offer plenty of free content from the Epic Games Store to last you hours upon hours. If you choose to play either, be sure to let us know what you think! These titles will switch at this time next week.
