Scrubs getting a second wind in 2020 makes me want to scream EAGLE! Two of the show’s lead actors, Zach Braff and Donald Faison, have created a Scrubs podcast called ‘Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald’. And, it’s awesome.
The brand-new Scrubs podcast is essentially a watch-along series with commentary from Braff and Faison. The real-life friends provide inside information about the making of the show and the high jinks that happened off-camera. Listeners learn tons of unique information about the cast and crew and the hospital the show was filmed in. It’s a great opportunity for lifelong fans to rekindle their connection with the 2000s television series. Likewise, ‘Fake Doctors, Real Friends’ is the perfect gateway for newbies to the show.
Dr. Dorian and Dr. Turk Come Alive in Scrubs Podcast
‘Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald’ shines most when Braff and Faison go off-script. The actor’s friendship is palpable through audio alone. Their stories and memories are told with the purest jubilation and it is heart-warming. It honestly feels like J.D. and Turk are on the podcast.
As any Scrubs fans would dream for, the podcast features some awesome guests. The show’s creator, Bill Lawrence stopped by for episodes 3 and 10. Lawrence and his wife, Christa Miller, who plays Jordan, then appeared together in episode 24. Sarah Chalke and John C. McGinley each have two guest appearances under their belts. Judy Reyes has been on as well.
Season 2Â Just Began
Braff and Faison’s Scrubs podcast wrapped up Season One on June 30. Season Two began a few days later with a bang. The duo recounted their time in between Scrubs’ first season and second season. They talked about their wild days living above author Amy Tan in New York City. Episode two served as a tribute to their good friend Nick Cordero, who recently passed away due to complications from Covid-19.
‘Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald’ can be found on iHeartRadio, Apple podcast services, and Android podcast services.
