Deadline is reporting that Aaron Paul will join HBO’s Westworld for its third season.
Details surrounding Paul’s character are unknown at this time but Deadline is saying that the former Emmy winner will be a series regular.
Aaron Paul is best known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in the hit AMC series, Breaking Bad. Since the show’s end, the actor has starred in other series such as The Path and Bojack Horseman. Currently, Paul is a series regular on Apple’s upcoming anthology series Are You Sleeping?
Westworld’s third season will be a stark contrast from previous years. Creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the direction of the series after the season two finale:
Nolan: “I think it’s a radical shift. What’s compelling and appealing about these characters is that they’re not human. As we said in the show, humans are bound by the same loops the hosts are, in some ways even smaller. You couldn’t expect human characters to withstand and survive the kind of story that we’re telling. The hosts have a different version of mortality, a different outlook. I think clearly with Dolores, as she’s laid out, there is a longer view here, a larger set of goals. They’re existential. They span eons. And that’s a fascinating level of story to engage in.”
Joy: “It really is like repiloting.”
Aaron Paul is yet again apart of another critically acclaimed series but when will we see him? Well, Westworld season three doesn’t have a premiere date as of yet and there is a good chance that we won’t see the hit HBO show until 2020 due to late production.
