Absolute Carnage #3 Spoilers Ahead
After a battle with a symbiote-possessed Norman Osborn, Venom and Spider-Man escape to a secret lab. With them are various Avengers who have been bonded to symbiotes in the past. Eddie is at a loss for what to do about Absolute Carnage. He doesn’t want to kill their enemies, but his symbiote feels that it is the only way to stop Carnage. Furthermore, Eddie does not know what to do about his son Dylan, a codex given form.
The Venom symbiote warns Brock that if he is unable to do what needs to be done to stop Absolute Carnage, it will abandon him to find someone who will. Eddie watches as Captain America undergoes the process to remove his codex in a machine built by the Maker. Spider-Man approaches Eddie to talk about Dylan. During the conversation, a voice tells Spidey to get away. The real Brock then enters the room as the imposter transforms into Carnage.
The villain’s horde then storms the lab, eager to either convert or harvest the heroes inside. Eddie must now choose between battling Carnage and protecting his son. When he chooses his son, the Venom symbiote makes good on his promise, leaving Brock and finding somebody else to help end Absolute Carnage. It envelops Bruce Banner, who is at the lab to inspect the Maker’s machine. As a result, he survives a fatal blow from Carnage, sending the crazed killer flying with a punch. Transforming into the gamma powerhouse, the symbiote declares, “We! Are! Hulk!”
