A recent partnership between Aconyte Books and Ubisoft has been established to produce a trilogy of written tales featuring a couple of familiar faces from Assassin’s Creed. Chosen as the go-to fiction company for adult readers, Aconyte Books focuses on publishing new adventures that are set in Ubisoft’s action-packed properties.
Revenge for the Fallen in The Ming Storm
Set in 16th century China, the upcoming novel, entitled The Ming Storm, follows Shao Jun on an extensive journey. Originally from the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China entry, Shao Jun’s story goes into deeper detail as she makes her way to Europe. After the fall of the Chinese Brotherhood, Shao Jun is on a path of vengeance against the Templar members known as the Eight Tigers. Before she can face her destiny, she must train with the heroic Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
The Ming Storm was originally published in China by bestselling author Yan Leisheng on March 31, 2019. In addition, France received its edition a year later on October 1, 2020. The book will now be coming to the US and Canada this summer on June 1, 2021, as well as the UK on July 8. Fans and readers will be able to check out the Assassin’s Creed literary entry in both paper and digital formats, with an audiobook to release some time after.
Aymar Azaizia, Transmedia and Business Development Director at Ubisoft, had this to say regarding the book’s incoming release:
We are really proud to be able to bring this original trilogy to English readers worldwide through Aconyte. Although the content is not set in the continuity of the main storyline, you will find a great authentic Assassin’s Creed story. Enjoy the ride!”
Acontye Books acts as the publishing arm for Asmodee Entertainment, the division of international games publisher and distributor Asmodee. Their primary responsibility relies on bringing the company’s range of brands into all sections and corners of media and entertainment. The vital partnership between them and Ubisoft will extend the worlds of Ubisoft’s characters and settings into literary form, with more announcements to come along the way.
