There’s no need to say how important is Microsoft’s Activision-Blizzard deal. But if we repeat, it’s the biggest acquisition in the gaming industry, and we don’t only say that because of the company’s insane price. The deal also means the hand-changing for important titles such as Call of Duty. If Microsoft could achieve to buy Activision-Blizzard, and use it for their Xbox brand, it would be chaos. That’s the reason why the regulators and gamers are worried about the acquisition. But Reuters’ new information says things will result good for Microsoft.
Activision-Blizzard Deal Nears To Complete
According to Reuters, the EU regulators are about to approve the deal, which is a big process. The rivals in the gaming industry, like Nvidia and Google, declared their concerns about the deal, and the progress went to risk. The case isn’t at risk in the US, but the UK regulators are preparing to force Microsoft to sell Call of Duty rights to another company after the deal gets done. But Reuters data claims the EU regulators will approve the deal without issues. The final decision will be made on April 25th, so stay tuned.

The acquisition is already complete in a few Eastern countries. But Microsoft’s focus is on EU countries and the United States. The gamers and regulators are worried if Microsoft decides to use the Call of Duty publishing rights only for Xbox. The company already stated they would keep CoD on PlayStation and want to run Activision-Blizzard operations for Microsoft’s mobile gaming plans. But that promises don’t seem enough for some authorities.
Microsoft also offered Sony a 10-year deal for Call of Duty, which will make Activision-Blizzard release Call of Duty on PlayStation for at least 10 years. Sony didn’t make it done with it and reported how they were suspicious.
