Adam Sandler is one of the modern age’s most celebrated comedians and actors. As a result of his timeless work, Adam Sandler will be honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The event will occur at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington, DC. The show will air on CNN on March 26th at 8 PM ET.
This will be a star-studded event as Chris Rock, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Buscemi, Judd Apatow, and many more will attend and be a part of Adam Sandler’s Mark Twain ceremony.
The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor is a prestigious award for several reasons. Not only is it named after one of the most influential American writers, but Adam Sandler is only the 24th person to receive it.
In discussing the award, Chris Licht, the chairman, and CEO of CNN Worldwide, had this to say:
“The Mark Twain Prize ceremony is one of the most uplifting, entertaining events of the year, and I am thrilled CNN is partnering with the Kennedy Center to broadcast it to our global audience. Humor has an amazing capacity to unite people, and for more than two decades, The Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize has honored those who do it best. I look forward to sharing this evening of laughter and celebration with our viewers.”
Some previous recipients of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor are Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dave Chappelle, and Tina Fey.
