- Marvel has done well with there mini-series comics in the last year. The creative team that brought us Cosmic Ghost Rider exploded in the Marvel Universe, and they are not stopping. Incoming this Wednesday, February 20, 2019, is the Age of X-Man: The Amazing Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler has had a couple of comic series exclusive to him and his origins, but a positive spin on his modern-day personality and abilities doesn’t exist.
Well, writer Seanan McGuire is bringing to your local comics store the best Nightcrawler story yet. McGuire also writes Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider and X-Men Gold. Showing her knowledge and genuine love for the underdogs in the Marvel comics universe.
The teleporter goes to Hollywood. Kurt Wagner juggles between his hero work as a member of the X-Men and his new Hollywood fame. You can’t imagine how hard it is to be a superhero and a movie star. But if anyone can “hop” back and forth, the Nightcrawler can. I am looking forward to this new mini-series. Nightcrawler is under appreciated like many X-Men, and he needs some love. For those of us who love DC’s Teen Titans on Cartoon Network, he has always felt to me like Marvel’s version of Beastboy. Nightcrawler has had a rough life and finds comfort in his new friends and family. He begins to do good for humankind and shows you his fun and outgoing personality.
2003’s X-Men II didn’t do him justice other than showing his compassion and friendship with Storm. Nightcrawler’s personality is much bigger and more profound than his live-action screentime gives him. If you don’t know Nightcrawler, I would suggest reading this new awesome comic coming to a local comic store near you. This mini-series will have five comics and I am sure this will not be the last of Nightcrawler.
