Rumors concerning Alan Wake have haunted the internet for ages, but now there’s some truth to the rumors. Developer Remedy Entertainment announced that Alan Wake Remastered is coming to consoles and PC in Fall 2021.
Creator Sam Lake officially announced Alan Wake Remastered on a fan-run site called “The Sudden Stop.” The full letter thanked fans for their continued support before delving into the details concerning the remake. This version will include the full game and both DLCs, “The Signal” and “The Writer.”
While Lake has promised that the remaster will honor the original, it will receive a 4k upgrade. “Alan Wake Remastered is the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that. But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.”
Alan Wake is an episodic supernatural mystery:
When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A Dark Presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.
Alan Wake Remastered doesn’t have an official release date, but it will release in Fall 2021 for PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Originally released in 2010, Alan Wake was an Xbox and PC exclusive that received two different DLCs, the year it was released. A sequel was in development, but it was eventually canceled. Remedy Entertainment turned the scrapped sequel into 2016’s Quantum Break.
