The City on the Hill star Aldis Hodge will play Alex Cross in an upcoming Amazon Studios adaptation series. It will be based on the hit book series by the famed author James Patterson. Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television are financing the project. Ben Watkins is an executive producer and writer of the Amazon Studios adaptation series. Watkins describes it as a “complex and twisted thriller”. The book series follows the detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross who investigates a range of crimes while tapping into the psyche of killers and their victims. Morgan Freeman was the first to bring the character to the big screen with critical acclaim. Tyler Perry stepped into the role but didn’t reach the expectations audiences had after Freeman. Aldis Hodge will also be a producer for the Alex Cross series. Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, and Craig Siebels are also executive producers.
One Can Say Aldis Hodge Has Gained “Leverage” in the Industry
The TNT series Leverage launched Hodge’s career. Aldis Hodge played “The Hacker” Alec Hardison of the ragtag team led by Nathan “Nate” Ford (Timothy Hutton). He reprised his role as Alec Hardison in Leverage: Redemption. Now Aldis Hodge has many credits to his name including his former role as Assistant District Attorney DeCourcy Ward and executive producer for City on the Hill. He has only gotten more screen time with his advancing career. Now he will step into the shoes of Alex Cross for the Amazon Studios adaptation series. Morgan Freeman left big shoes to fill, but from the past performances of Aldis Hodge, he may be able to make this role his own. The actor can currently be seen in the film Black Adam opposite Dwayne Johnson. This time Hodge will be the center of attention in the Alex Cross Amazon Studios adaptation series.
There is no set release for the Alex Cross series starring Aldis Hodge.
