Variety has confirmed that an ALF reboot is in the works at Warner Bros TV.Ā
It seems that this ALF reboot is still in very early stages of development as little is known about the plot and staff producing it. In the Variety article, it was said that:
āOne idea that has reportedly been discussed for the reboot would involve ALF emerging from Area 51āwhere he has been held captive since the original series finaleāand observing how much the world has changed since that time.ā
No writers have been attached to the project as of yet and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the proposed reboot is still looking for a network to air on.
ALF was an NBC sitcom that aired for four seasons on the network before ending abruptly in 1990. The plot revolved around ALF (an acronym for Alien Life Form) being taken in by the suburban Tanner family after the alien crash lands into their garage.
This isnāt the only beloved sitcom rumored to be returning from the dead. Kelsey Grammer has been reportedly meeting with potential writers and pitching ideas to producers regarding a reboot of Frasier. Frasier was an NBC series that ran from 1993-2004.
Roseanne was another once adored sitcom that made a return to television screens this year. Even though it had solid ratings and decent reviews, the show was ultimately canceled due to racist tweets made by the series star Roseanne Barr. A spin-off titled The Conners is currently in development revolving around a Roseanne-less Conner family.
