Not long ago, we got the chance to see the next Aliens game that was in the works. Some people were a bit disappointed. After all, Alien: Isolation left the bar quite high in terms of Aliens games. However, there’s hope at the end of the tunnel. Aliens: Dark Descent just launched a gameplay trailer accompanied by the release date announcement. While both are fantastic news, the gameplay is a lot better than we anticipated. Some thought it’d be another Colonial Marines game but no, we are about to get something a lot better and more tactical.
Aliens: Dark Descent gets a release date of June 20, 2023
Let’s begin with the release date. Aliens: Dark Descent will launch on June 20, 2023. With that out of the way, we can talk about the gameplay trailer. It is great or at least, better than many thought. Right now, we can treat the game as a blend of XCOM with Aliens. We are going to get a tactical game where we get our squad and there’s perma-death. The game is tactical in many ways and has big open maps to plan and execute missions. Sounds familiar? Yes, XCOM. Well, just the perma-death and tactical parts. Still, we’re happy that there are Aliens now in it.

Aliens: Dark Descent didn’t raise any eyebrows when it showed its first trailer. Now, many people are considering buying it, especially now that the release date of Aliens: Dark Descent isn’t far away. We think it might be a good game whenever it gets here but we’ll have to wait and see. Trailers show one thing but it is always better to see some hands-on gameplay. Still, if you’re a fan of Aliens, you should consider getting this game as it is bringing many things that all fans from the franchise love.
