The September 16 update for Aliens: Fireteam Elite has officially arrived, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with today’s patch. It may surprise you if you noticed yesterday’s patch that we’re getting yet another patch today. Unfortunately, today’s patch doesn’t bring quite as many changes as the last one. In fact, this one instead reverts a fix made on all platforms that were causing serious issues. If you’re curious about this fix, here’s everything new with Aliens: Fireteam Elite’s September 16 update.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite September 16 Update Patch Notes
General
- We have reverted a fix for improved support to ultra-wide screens in order to prevent an unintended issue with weapon accuracy.
Funny enough, we actually had mentioned this accuracy issue first thing in yesterday’s patch. Given how severe something like that can be on a game like Aliens: Fireteam Elite though, it’s no surprise the team immediately got on top of it. It makes sense something like that would’ve been missed though, given this is exclusive to ultra-wide screens rather than standard monitors. Doesn’t make it any less needed of a fix, but its small target group means it makes sense for it to be overlooked. All in all, it’s great to see Cold Iron Studios get to the bottom of this issue quite quickly and fix it.
Thankfully, it seems the remainder of the September 15 patch notes is all going over well. The improvements to the Phalanx class were quite necessary, as a shield needs to have a good blocking angle if it’s to…you know…block damage. And Doc’s healing fix is still much appreciated, as that just allows the class to reach its full potential. If there’s a particular fix you’re happy about, be sure to let us know in the comments.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite and the September 16 update are available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more information regarding today’s patch, check out the official website.
