A famous and reputable leaker who goes by the name of “the Snitch” has been hinting that the age-old Alone In The Dark series might be making a return after so long.
The leaker has been active for a bit under a year now and has been very reliable in terms of accuracy. He/she correctly leaked information about Sony’s State of Play, Summer Game Fest, and even Microsoft’s Xbox Showcase. In terms of actual games, the leaker hinted toward a Crisis Core remake announcement and also confirmed the release date of God of War: Ragnarok.
The Snitch took to Twitter recently, and his cryptic tweet relates to the Alone in The Dark franchise. The words “being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive” are taken directly from the Alone In The Dark movie from 2005 featuring Christian Slater, Tara Reid, and Stephen Dorff.
Being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive.

Is Alone In The Dark Getting A New Game?
Of course, fans have started speculating about what this leak could mean for the Alone In The Dark franchise. This may hint toward a new entry to the series or even a remake of the original.
The last Alone In The Dark game came out in 2008 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC. The horror game series has been long dormant ever since.
The Alone In The Dark IP is currently owned by THQ Nordic since 2018, and the publisher will have a showcase in a few days. Perhaps this leak is pointing toward an announcement of a new title or remake. But as always, take this leak with a healthy serving of salt, as nothing has been officially confirmed so far.
But if true, the revival of such a beloved series will definitely get fans excited. The last game in the series received pretty average scores, with its predecessors being fan favorites to this day.
