A few days ago, a famous leaker on Twitter shared cryptic hints about a new Alone In The Dark video game announcement. Now the leak has been confirmed by a Belgian shop listing and some screenshots to back it up. As expected, the upcoming game is a remake of the original from 1992, Resident Evil 2 style. And the Alone In The Dark Remake will be published by THQ Nordic.
Following the listing, reputable insider AestheticGamer shared more screenshots of the remake on Twitter. According to the game’s description on the Belgian shop listing, the game will be “psychological horror meets Southern Gothic.”
Alone In The Dark Remake Listing Details
Although the listing has since been removed, this is what the listing revealed about THQ Nordic’s Alone In The Dark Remake:
“This love letter to the cult ’90s game will take you through a story that’s as sinister as it is memorable through the eyes of one of the two protagonists, playing as Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood, explore the various environments, fight monsters, solve puzzles and discover the terrible truth about the mansion of Derceto.
In the deep south of the United States during the years 1920, Emily Hartwood’s uncle disappears. Accompanied by the private detective Edward Carnby, she goes looking for him in the manor of Derceto, a mental asylum where something is lurking.

Additionally, AestheticGamer also confirmed that the Alone In The Dark Remake story “will be written by the same guy who wrote SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Decent.”
THQ Nordic has a digital showcase today at 12 pm noon PT / 3 pm ET / 8 pm BST. That is probably where the remake will officially be announced.
