The Amazon Fallout series is moving forward as one of the leading stars, Walton Goggins (Justified), has confirmed on Instagram that production on the show has started. The picture is a black and white selfie with a piece of paper with his character written on it, “Ghoul.” While we had an idea that it started when Collider shared an image of Super Duper Mart, a dilapidated grocery store from the video games, now we know for certain.
“Day 1… FALLOUT… for Amazon. Deep breath…. Exhale… Let’s see where this road goes want too,” he wrote. In the comments, costar Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) responded, “Glad to be traveling it with you.”
Walton Goggins confirms Amazon Fallout series began production
Walton Goggins’ role in the Amazon Fallout series is a ghoul. For players of the games developed by Bethesda know the characters well. For those not in the know, they are irradiated people who have been turned into zombie-looking creatures. Some have enough cognition to live like normal people; others have gone feral and acted like wild animals. No matter how they behave, the world of the post-apocalyptic games shows people’s prejudiced views toward the Ghouls.
The plot for the Amazon Fallout series is locked in a vault. The Super Duper Mart has stirred speculation as it is seen in Fallout 3, arguably the most popular entry in the video game franchise, so maybe the series will have a connection to it or around Washington D.C.
Cocreators of the HBO series Westworld, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, produce the series and direct at least the pilot. Showrunners for the Amazon Fallout series will be Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Silicon Valley). They will executive produce with Nolan, Joy, and Athena Wickham. Bethesda’s Todd Howard and James Altman will executive produce too. It will also star Ella Purnell (Army of the Dead) as the lead, Xelia Mendes-Jones (Havoc), and Aaron Moten (The Transfiguration). No details are known about the specifics of their characters.
