If you’ve ever fantasized about being a British spy like the many 007s before you, Amazon Prime Video has you covered. Variety reports that the streaming service is currently working on 007’s Road To A Million– its first competition show based on the James Bond franchise. 007’s Road To A Million is brought to us by Britain’s own 72 Films, James Bond vets Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, and MGM, which was recently acquired by Amazon in an $8.5 billion deal.
What You Can Expect From The James Bond Competition
Road To A Million is being described as a “cinematic global adventure.” The unscripted competition show is meant to emulate the experience of being a British spy, which is a dream come true for those who grew up idolizing 007 in films like GoldenEye, From Russia With Love, and most recently No Time To Die.
Road To A Million will take place in various locations throughout the world, including some of the historical locations that have been featured throughout the James Bond franchise. 007’s Road To A Million will follow teams of two as they work together to complete challenges that test their physical strength, endurance, and intelligence. In addition to overcoming physical challenges, competitors will also need to answer questions that have been carefully hidden throughout the world to advance to the next challenge. The Road To A Million competition winners will receive a cash prize of 1 million pounds (approx $1.3 million). Applications for teams are currently being accepted on shortaudition.net through May 5th, 2022, and appear to be exclusive to residents of the UK.
According to film analysts, the James Bond franchise significantly influences Amazon’s recent MGM acquisition. With the series going through a transitional period and saying goodbye to its latest Bond, who knows what’s next for the James Bond films. In the meantime, you can catch this James Bond-inspired competition show when it premieres on Amazon Prime Video.
