Amazon has recently announced a handful of leads for its adaptation of the epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. The series’ five young heroes, along with their fearless guardian have officially been cast.
Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Wrath of the Titans) will be taking charge of the series young heroes as Moraine. The rest of the main cast is made up of some fresh faces with new, amazing talent. Madeleine Madden is set to play Egwene Al’Vere, Josha Stradowski will play farm boy-turned-hero Rand al’ Thor, his best friend Mat Cauthon will be played by Barney Harris, and Marcus Rutherford is set to portray Perrin Aybara. Along with these casting choices, author Robert Jordan’s wife, Harriet McDougal, and fantasy author Brandon Sanderson will act as consulting producers on The Wheel of Time.

The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular and enduring fantasy series of all-time, with over 90 million books sold. Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
Written by Robert Jordan, this fantasy epic spawns across 14 novels, and the series has sold over 90 million copies over the years.
As of this writing, Amazon has not announced an official release date for its adaptation of The Wheel of Time, but we are awaiting that announcement with pure anticipation!
