Amber Heard went on Today this week to defend herself and her public image post-trial. She insists she told the whole truth during her testimony. This is in the wake of the whole world taking one side during the trial, which she says was unfair. She also intends to appeal the verdict, but details of that are still tightly wrapped. While the world may not be a fan of the actress right now, she still has the right to share her side. It doesn’t make it true and doesn’t mean it’s right, but she has the right to say it.
Amber Heard on Today being interviewed by Savannah Guthrie was very compelling television. Heard was quick to point out how the court of public opinion affected the outcome and verdict. She swears the masses of Johnny Depp fans made her side impossible to tell.
But it is strange how the whole world thinks she lied, and she is just doubling down. The lack of accountability for any of this has been a running theme for her.
Did Amber Heard Tell the whole truth?
To her credit, interviewer Guthrie did not pull any punches. She points out to Heard that the first amendment doesn’t cover lies. Heard then triples down and again insists every word she said was true. She also asked the troubled actress if some people thought she was ‘acting’ on the stand. Heard replies with the atypical “no, HE was the one performing.”
When asked directly about the audio clip where she admitted to hitting Depp and was mocking him, Heard responded, “that was out of context.” Honestly, Guthrie didn’t seem like she was buying it but did a great job being as impartial as possible.
So let us ask, are YOU buying it? What are your thoughts about Heard post-trial?
