Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s legal feud have taken a more complicated turn since the June 1st ruling in favor of the latter. While Johnny is undoubtedly basking in his defamation case victory in connection with a 2018 op-ed for Washington Post, the actress seems to be living her worst days.
Those moments seem to worsen as her ex-husband embraces social media to commemorate his victory. Johnny recently joined TikTok, and his first post on Tuesday, June 7th, especially hit home for Amber, who refused to take it sitting down.
Johnny Depp’s TikTok Post
The Grindelwald actor took to the platform to thank his loyal, unwavering, and most-treasured supporters for standing by him throughout the trial. Then, sharing a montage of his recent music tour, he wrote:
“We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together, all because you cared. And now we all move forward together.”

He concluded the caption with a heartfelt “thank you.” Although the post represented the icon’s first Tiktok upload, it received massive support, garnering him 7.8 million followers within hours of joining the platform.
Amber Heard Hits Back At Her Ex
While Johnny Depp’s TikTok post made no direct reference to his ex-wife, it didn’t sit well with Amber. A spokesperson for the Aquaman star released a statement afterward, labeling Johnny’s remark a setback to the women’s rights movement. The statement read:
“As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backwards. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is… ‘be afraid to stand up and speak out.’”
Amber, who plans to appeal the court’s verdict, has been open about her disappointment over the ruling. After the court’s ruling, she expressed her disappointment over the verdict and its meaning for other women.
The actress said she was heartbroken that her evidence was inadequate to “stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway” of her ex-husband. Amber believes her loss would begin an era where female abuse victims would be shamed for speaking up.
After months of observing the back and forth legal battle between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, no turn of events is unexpected. After all, the exes have remained major headliners, leaving netizens divided as they watch these two fan-favorites battle it out.
