No wonder why MoviePass was no longer working at certain AMC theaters. AMC Theaters has recently announced a similar subscription called AMC Stubs A-List.
This new service will officially launch on June 26 for moviegoers to enjoy their service. AMC Theaters had already established a membership of their own with AMC Stubs. The basic membership simply titled AMC Stubs Insider, offers free refills on large popcorns and $5 tickets on Tuesdays with no charge. It later introduced AMC Stubs Premiere, the latter which was rumored to be part of the new subscription’s name. AMC Stubs Premiere offers the same benefits as its predecessor, but it adds additional offers such 100 points for every dollar spent, instead of 20 points. In addition, it offers customers the ability to line up in a faster lane when purchasing both tickets and food at the concession as well as free food size upgrade such as popcorns.
Those who already have one of the previous memberships might want to take advantage of this new subscription. As a matter of fact, the new membership will include all perks plus the ones that you are obtaining by subscribing to it. AMC Theaters promises those who choose their new service the choice to see up to three movies a week for only $19.95 per month. Any format that you choose to see your movie will be available including IMAX, Real3D, Dolby, Prime and Big D.
MoviePass might have a hard time competing with AMC Theaters’ new subscription since it has been introducing some limitations to its service such as allowing a person to see the same movie only once. In contrast, Stubs A-List will allow a moviegoer to see their favorite movie more than once. MoviePass currently has a monthly cost of $9.95 and it has a limited offer which gets you an extended free three-month trial of iHeartRadio All-Access for $7.95 per month.
