If your theater experience is preferred at AMC Theaters, then prepare to pay more for a ticket, as prices will be determined based on the seat location. It will begin in New York, Chicago, and Kansas City this Friday before spreading throughout the rest of the domestic later this year.
AMC Theaters will charge its ticket prices based on three tiers. Standard Sightline will be the average seats that have butts in them for a standard price. The front rows will be for Value Sightline, which sees lower prices that also includes accessible seating (ADA seats). That tier will be only available for AMC Stubs members, which includes free members. Finally, Preferred Sightline will include the middle seats for a higher price. AMC Stubs A-List members will be able to reserve this section without extra cost.

The theater business has been struggling for years, and the pandemic shed light on its struggles while making it worse as audience attendance shot down. Theater chains have tried various tactics, like Regal’s Unlimited membership.
For Sightline locations, the map of seats at AMC Theaters highlights the seats under each tier whether you buy tickets online, through the app, or at the theater. For these locations, it will only be available after 4 p.m. and will not be included for Discount Tuesdays, when you can watch movies for $5.
The box office has largely been down to various factors in the pandemic. For one, safety reasons have seen people avoid going out to public spaces. Some films have not been in China, which is a major player that boosts box office numbers. Marvel has not played a film in the country for a few years, which will see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania being the first to play in China. Still, some films have found success, like Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water.
