Annie Murphy Draws in Audiences in Schitt’s Creek and Kevin Can F**k Himself
Murphy initially made audiences laugh at the vain and airheaded Alexis Rose on Schitt’s Creek. It’s impossible to forget Alexis’ cringe-worthy audition for Cabaret or the retellings of her elaborate misadventures. Schitt’s Creek was able to be fully appreciated on a global scale once it was streaming on Netflix. It has taken only one season for people to see the beauty of Allison McRoberts in Kevin Can F**k Himself. The AMC dark comedy series does a great job of showing the sitcom side of things with the bleak reality of Allison’s life. Murphy has garnered critical acclaim as Allison. The contrast in lighting and tone between the juxtaposed genres really supplements the story. It makes series like King of Queens and According to Jim, look a lot different.
Despite, the coming season being it’s last, the series has forever changed how audiences view sitcoms. In addition, the “sitcom wife” has taken on a whole new meaning. Season 2 of Kevin Can F**k Himself will air in 2022.
