Manufacturing new devices within the last 2 years have been quite the challenge. As the global pandemic makes production very difficult, chip shortages do no better. Analogue has been put in a hard situation with their handheld Analogue Pocket. Having opened pre-orders more than a year ago, 2021 has proved to be much more difficult. The Analogue Pocket delay has certainly been in customers’ minds for quite some time. Originally set to launch last December, the initial shipments were all pushed back to May of 2021. After announcing in March that the orders were delayed again until October, it seems that Analogue is running into more issues. Announced today on their official Twitter was a statement regarding shipments of the Analogue Pocket being delayed at the latest until December.
Pocket pre-orders will be shipping at the latest in December. We understand how frustrating this is. It’s very frustrating for us, too. We are excited to get these amazing devices in your hands as soon as possible. https://t.co/jT8vLshy0w

Why is the Analogue Pocket Delay Happening?
While news of the delay comes at a decent surprise, Analogue has had to wade through a multitude of issues over the last year. In late March-early April, the boat blocking the entirety of the Suez Canal caused many production delays. Seeing how this was near the original May shipment deadline it’s easy to see how this caused many issues. Citing it as the cause of the initial 6-month delay to October. With semiconductor shortages also having played a role, these recent delays are due to assembly constraints. Though, with the release of the first wave of Analogue Pockets, the device will also be back in stock after the holiday season. Additionally, Analogue has promised to debut new footage and hands-on experiences before the handhelds ship. With that in mind, Analogue is also still offering full refunds for those who wish to cancel their orders.
