Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is now available for pre-order for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey comes from Patrice Desilets. Desilets is the original creative director behind Assassins’ Creed and promises to be like nothing experienced prior.
The game starts off with the player taking control of a young hominid. The first goal is to reunite with its clan. The story as a whole takes place ten million years ago in Neogene, Africa. It’s a dangerous time back then, especially for our defenseless ancestors.
Ancestors will feature hostile predators such as saber-toothed tigers, environmental hazards, and poisonous food. The potential for a quick and painful death is everywhere. The player must explore his or her surroundings. Evolvolution is the key if there is the slightest chance of survival.
Players must understand the world around them. The hominid needs to advance their skills via a system known as the neural network. The play mechanics are role-playing in nature. Players will improve their senses, such as hearing, sight, and communication. Motor skills can be advanced, as well. You will be able to evolve the in-game character to identify dangers far and wide as well as to walk upright.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will feature several different biomes to explore. New predators and secrets to uncover await you in each area. Players will have to traverse boggy swamps, dense woodland, plains, and more. You must learn how to use tools and defeat the darkness around you.
The trailer looks promising, but the jury is still out if the game can deliver on its premise. The concept is interesting. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
Can you survive like our ancestors did? We’ll find out on December 6th.
