Andrew Lincoln was seen possibly preparing for his return to the hit TV show, The Walking Dead, as Rick Grimes.
For those of you who have not heard of the record-breaking and award-winning series, The Walking Dead is a TV adaptation of the massively popular and critically acclaimed comic book series of the same name. Both the show and the comics primarily focus on Rick Grimes, a policeman, a husband, and a father who is forced to survive a zombie apocalypse. Eventually, Rick Grime’s story on television came to an end. The show is currently in its tenth season without him.
However, according to comicbook.com, Andrew Lincoln was spotted at the Cotswald Range shooting targets in their zombie course. He also had a nice, grey beard, much like he had in the show. This could, of course, just be a new look or a fun activity for the actor in his free time. But the beard, target practice, and zombie theme indicates there might be something more.
When Andrew Lincoln left The Walking Dead in season nine of the long-running series, it wasn’t for good. Immediately following the pivotal episode, it was announced there would be a trilogy of films focused on Rick Grimes. Andrew Lincoln is set to reprise his role, but we haven’t heard much about the first film since then.
Lincoln’s new look, however, and his practice on zombie targets, indicates that his work on the movie might be imminent. It seems that the actor could be preparing for his return to The Walking Dead. If so, we must all keep our ears to the ground for news of a trailer or additional details.
