February in Animal Crossing means the arrival of Festivale, a vibrant and energetic celebration of dancing, confetti, and colors. The Festivale event is coming on February 15, but there are things to see and do before then to prepare for the colorful event. Here’s everything we know about Festivale and what you need to know leading up to the event.
Clothing
What better way to prepare for Animal Crossing’s Festivale than dressing the part? There’ll be a few clothing items themed around the event available for purchase at your local tailor’s shop. The Able Sisters shop will have three different items that rotate from day to day.
The Festivale Tank Dress is a sleeveless sequin number that you can buy for 2,600 Bells. The Festivale Accessory is a feathery headband that sells for 2,240 Bells. Finally, grab the Festivale Costume for 2,600 Bells. It’s a top and pants combo covered in sequins and sparkles. All three clothing items come in pink, orange, green, or blue.
Furniture
If you’re more into decorating your island and home, head to Nook’s Cranny to grab some Festivale furniture. They also come in the same four colors, though which color is available in your shop is determined by your island, and you’ll need to trade with others to get the additional colors.
There are nine items in total: Festivale Lamp (1,500 Bells), Festivale Stage (6,000), Festivale Garland (4,000), Festivale Stall (3,000), Festivale Flag (1,300), Festivale Balloon Lamp (4,000), Festivale Parasol (2,500), Festivale Drum (2,100), and the Festivale Confetti Machine (5,000). Keep in mind that each item can only be purchased once, so make sure to use them wisely!
There will be one item in your shop each day. If you miss any, you’ll have to do some good old time traveling (if you’re picking up what we’re putting down).
Reaction Set
Perhaps most exciting to you is the ability to use some new reactions. If you head to Nook’s Cranny and look in the cupboard, you’ll find the Viva Festival Reaction Set. Purchase it for 19,800 Bells and you’ll be able to use four new reactions.
Feelin’ It is a cute little salsa dance. Let’s Go is a little beckoning hand motion while hopping. Viva is a little dance with gold sparkles. Finally, Confetti lets you boogie and toss confetti in the air. Many NPCs will react in kind when you use the reactions near them in their sightline. Try it out on Timmy and Tommy before you leave the shop and you’ll get to see them be as adorable as ever.
Festivale
Once the big day arrives on February 15, Pavé will be in your town plaza with a colorful arch. He’ll task you with finding feathers around your island, specifically asking for a certain color each time. Catch them with your net and bring them to him. It isn’t clear quite yet what will happen when you do this, but if past events are anything to go off of, he’ll probably give you DIY recipes in return. Each time you bring him a feather, he’ll do a fun dance to celebrate.
Keep an eye out for special rainbow feathers floating around your island. These are harder to find, but if you bring them to Pavé, he’ll apparently give you a “special reward.” Again, we don’t know yet what this will be.
To enjoy everything Animal Crossing’s Festivale event has to offer, you’ll need to make sure your game is updated to the latest version 1.7.0. It should prompt you automatically when your Switch is connected to the internet. Are you excited about the event? Let us know in the comments below!
