Everyone remembers when Animal Crossing: New Horizons was first released 3 years ago. It was during the huge Covid-19 pandemic, so everyone went out and purchased a Nintendo Switch and began playing Animal Crossing right away. Many fans fell in love with the game right away if they were playing for the first time, which then sparked social media to explode with everyone sharing their designs, creations, and villagers in the game.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Celebrates 3 Years
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest installment in the popular franchise which is known for having previous games on the GameCube, DS, and Wii consoles. Ever since players have fallen head-over-heels in love with the franchise that brings us cute little villagers of different animals like bunnies, cows, foxes, and more. In New Horizons, it allows you to design and decorate your own island, from planting trees with different fruits to decorating your villager homes if you have the expansion pack and loads more.
There will be many more decades to come of people telling their kids about the pandemic, and how they all went to play Animal Crossing as a way to destress. This game will no doubt keep touching the hearts of its players as it continues to grow in the years to come. However, it is sad the game doesn’t have support anymore, but we can hope for a new game to be announced in the future.
Currently, the lifetime sales of Animal Crossing: New Horizons are at 39.38 million units of the game. The overall community for this game is amazing with so many die-hard fans sticking by it with hopes of a new game, but sadly, that probably won’t happen until a whole new console from Nintendo releases. For now, you can play Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch today.
