A new short trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons released today with a focus on island decorating.
In the 30 second trailer released on the Nintendo UK YouTube account, you can see a montage of different ways to decorate your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The trailer starts with a player character popping out of the game’s signature yellow tent and getting to work placing a table, chair, and couch nearby. For some reason, this player already had a bookshelf placed outside along the riverfront. While this doesn’t seem like the best way to keep books safe, maybe it’s an outdoor lending library. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the type of game that doesn’t limit your imagination with silly rules like “keep books dry.”
Our player character continues decorating the area around his tent, moving on to the garden next. With flowers planted along the fence line, he gets to work, showing off his musical interests. With a guitar already sitting on a slab of stone, he pushes a piano through the grass and into the desired position. The dude clearly wants to show off not only his musical prowess but also his muscles.
As dusk falls, the character lays on a hammock along the riverfront (next to the bookshelf mentioned above). We’re able to see what he created that day. There’s a saxophone next to a music stand—a gramophone in the corner. A second guitar sits next to the hammock. The player character closes his eyes but later wakes up to view a meteor shooting through the sky.
I’m jealous of everything.
Different ways to decorate
It’s hard not to be jealous of these Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters sometimes. Being in a world where your imagination isn’t limited is one of the appeals of the series. Working on whatever project you want to at that moment is cathartic. Our player character created a cozy camp in a day, but the trailer goes on to show what else you can create outdoors. We get a quick shot of an outdoor classroom with cherry trees in bloom and a bonsai tree on the desk. A glimpse at relaxing party decor on a beach. An outdoor gym with another outdoor bookshelf, this time to show off trophies. A shot of a ninja’s hideout.
The possibilities are seemingly endless with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Keep an eye on our website for more news on it as we approach its March 20 release on Nintendo Switch.
