Fans of the popular town builder/turnip-based capitalism simulator Animal Crossing will be excited to learn that Season 5 amiibo cards will be coming in November. There will be 48 new cards in total and they will feature some of the newer characters found in the New Horizons game that kept us all company during the darkest days of 2020 and 2021. The cards work very much like your standard amiibo figurines, except they’re cards and not figurines. Tapping them on the sweet spot on your Switch will allow you to summon the character to your town, which will save you the hassle of traveling to a bunch of islands over and over again until you finally find someone good.
While the 48 total cards are half of what previous seasons offered – season 4 had 100 characters, for example – there have been some favorites that have yet to grace the face of an amiibo card. While we don’t have a complete list quite yet, here’s who we know will be included:

Phew! That’s a lot of villagers. There are some clear standouts in the list: Sherb, Blathers, Celeste, Sherb, Wisp, the Mabel/Sable/Label sisters, and Sherb. You’ll certainly have your list of favorites, of course, which is fine. Unless Sherb isn’t on it, in which case we will have a problem.
The announcement of the season 5 amiibo cards comes fresh on the heels of another Animal Crossing announcement of new DLC available on November 5. Don’t forget about the November update, either, which will bring back beloved slinger of coffee and life advice Brewster. There has also been a recent patch, so check that out, too, if you haven’t already.
