Aniplex of America announced at its New York Comic Con panel that they will release Demon Slayer season 2 (Entertainment District Arc) on Blu-Ray. The release will be a part of a limited edition set for the anime. As of now, there is no posted price or release date for Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc Blu-Ray disc set. The set will include three discs with all 11 episodes, six original soundtrack CDs, and a box illustrated by character designer Akira Matsushima.
The Demon Slayer Entertainment District arc anime premiered in December 2021 with a one-hour special episode. Both Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. It proved to be a highly successful anime season bringing back new and old fans for its seasonal run. Even after that season ended, the Entertainment District Arc’s theme song, “Zankyou Saka,” topped Japan’s music charts for 7 weeks straight. Its previous entry, “Gurenge,” became one of the top 10 most streamed anime openings of all time.
Aniplex’s Demon Slayer Release: A Franchise Far From Over
The Demon Slayer anime will now continue with the Swordsmith Village Arc as its season 3. Though confirmed, there is no release timeline for Demon Slayer season 3 (though it is to be expected soon). All of the main cast and crew members are expected to return for the Swordsmith Village.
Previously, the Demon Slayer franchise saw the highly successful movie Mugen Train in 2020. The anime film first premiered in Japan in October, with Crunchyroll and Funimation streaming the movie later that year. The Demon Slayer- Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train also saw a very successful theatrical run worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2020.
Gotouge first launched the Demon Slayer manga in Weekly Sh0nen Jump Magazine in February 2016. The manga ended in May 2020. Shueisha published the manga’s 23rd and final complained volume in December. Currently, Viz Media is publishing the Demon Slayer manga in English.
