The based-on-real-life thriller film The Dating Game, which will have Anna Kendrick as a star and a director, has caught some momentum. She will play the real-life bachelorette Cheryl Bradshaw from the popular 70s matchmaking show. Bradshaw chose Rodney Alcala for her date; Alcala turned out to be an active serial killer. The Dating Game became a hot ticket item after Anna Kendrick pitched it in person with AGC Studio’s CEO Stuart Ford. AGC Studio is fully financing the film. Several distributors jumped at the chance to get the film at the Toronto International Film Festival. Telepool from Germany pre-brought the film. Signature Entertainment has the rights to it in the U.K. and Ireland. Sun Distribution has it for Latin America. Lucky Red has Italian rights for the film. Roadshow Films scored the based-on-real-life thriller film rights for Australia.
