Actress Anne Heche is hospitalized and in critical condition after a fiery car crash. Deadline reports Heche crashed her car into a Los Angeles home at 10:55 AM on Friday. An LAPD spokesperson said Heche had been heading east on Preston Way at high speed. Upon entering the T intersection at Walgrove Avenue, Heche ran off the road and crashed into the home. The vehicle burst into flames, engulfing the home and leaving Heche with severe burns and charred clothes. The actress and former partner of comedian and talk-show host Ellen Degeneres was carried away in a stretcher.

TMZÂ reveals more disturbing details of Heche’s crash, which was the second crash of the day. Earlier in the day, Heche crashed her blue Mini Cooper into the garage of an apartment complex. The Mini Cooper is registered to the actress. Residents attempted to get Heche out of the car, but she sped away and proceeded on the path towards the second crash that ended in flames and left Heche in critical condition. While authorities haven’t released any details related to substance abuse, a photo shows a bottle with a red cap that appears to be a bottle of alcohol.
ABC 7Â reports that a woman was inside the house at the time of impact but was at the back of the house. Neither the woman nor her two dogs were injured.
Anne Heche has had many notable roles in films such as Donnie Brasco and Six Days, Seven Nights (alongside actor Harrison Ford). However, the actress’ high-profile relationship with Degeneres became a significant source of frustration, making her afraid to appear in pictures. Heche did not do a movie for ten years. She dated James Tupper for several years, and Degeneres married Portia De’Rossi.
