Apex Legends’ third season is around the corner, bringing a new map for players to shoot anything that moves an inch with their squad and a sweaty controller.
The latest map for Apex Legends is called World’s Edge. This area will feature an icy and molten environment to navigate. It also appears that players will be able to use a train to move around, maybe even fight on top of.
Along with the “Icy Hot” map, there will be a new Legend named Crypto and weapon called the Charge Rifle. This is all before mentioning the latest Battle Pass, which will include more than 100 exclusive items. Check out the latest trailer for the season below.
The Respawn Twitter gave some backstory on the new map by saying, “Welcome to World’s Edge, a new Apex Legends map where molten heat and chemical ice collide. Join our cast of Legends – including the newest Legend, Crypto – on the dropship as they’re whisked from Planet Solace towards World’s Edge on Planet Talos.”
The Legend Keeps Evolving
This is a definite change of scenery for Season 3 when compared to the green mountains and installations of Apex’s base map. Season 2 saw the original map get a revamp with a new layout and dinosaurs added into the mix for the users.
Apex Legends came out quietly released earlier this year, gaining popularity quickly upon launch and becoming a rival to Fortnite. Developer Respawn drew over 50 million players around launch with a consistent fan base still in the millions.
The free-to-play battle royale shooter has gone through multiple changes since day one to keep the userbase interested. The in-depth mechanics how the new map, character or gun will work yet, but we will keep you posted as more info is released.
